The North-east or “Iruvai” Monsoon, as it is known in the Maldives, lasts from December to April. It is a season characterized as one of bountifulness.
This season also brings in schools of large fish like Yellowfin Tuna and the mighty Marlins. These large fish are often accompanied by huge pods of porpoises. Often, even a small branch floating in the sea will be teeming with fish. These “Oevaali”, as they are known in the Maldives, are used by fishermen to track down their quarry.
Commemorate this season of plenty with our new Monsoon Pendant. Available in both polished silver and gun metal colours, the lines of this pendant depict the teeming life in the deep blue waters of the Maldivian seas.
